Miss Tilly Bishop, Kenrad Chastain Wed

The marriage of Miss Tilly Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bishop to Mr. Kenrad Chastain, son of Mrs. L.C. Chastain, Sr. was solemnized at the personage of the First Baptist church in Allendale, S.C. on August 24, at 10 a.m.

Only the immediate families of the bride and groom were present for the double ring ceremony, which was performed by the Baptist pastor, Rev. Weathers.

Miss Bishop and her parents are former residents of Thomasville who are now making their home in Allendale.  The young couple will reside in Pensacola, Florida, where the groom is stationed with the U.S. Navy as an airman first class.

A reception was held at the home of Mrs. L.C. Chastain for a few close friends and relatives as the couple visited Thomasville during their wedding trip, which also included points of interest in Florida.

For her wedding, the bride chose a street length dress of white with which she carried many accessories.  Her sister, Miss Ann Bishop served as Maid of Honor.  She wore a pale green organdy dress with white accessories.

Mr. Mickey Dupree, nephew of Mr. Chastain, served as his Bet Man.  The groom’s sister, Mrs. L. B. Dupree of Clearwater, Florida, was among the small group of wedding guests who were present for the rites.

Both the bride and groom are native of Thomasville where they attended the Thomasville High School before Miss Bishop moved to South Carolina and Mr. Chastain entered the naval service.
